• We would like to encourage both experienced and inexperienced talented young conductors (aged 18–35) who have an interest in symphonic choral music to apply.
• This workshop may also be of interest to those thinking of applying for the next Young Conductors Mentoring Scheme (September 2027 - July 2028)

Workshop music

Poulenc's Gloria (Salabert Edition)

Please bring your own score, ensure that it is the hard copy of the Salabert Edition, and do not use a tablet as we need to ensure compatibility with page numbers of the singers’ scores. Each candidate will have about 25 minutes with the choir, working on a movement which is allocated to them in advance. David Temple will coach you during your session. For the rest of the afternoon, you will be invited to observe. There is also a session for the current YCMS students during the morning (10.30 – 13.00) which those selected can attend as an observer. They will be rehearsing various sections of Stravinky's Symphony of Psalms.

Workshop choir

Up to 40 experienced singers (representing all 4 voice parts) from Crouch End Festival Chorus and the choir’s accompanist will also be attending.
